Petaling Jaya · First Morning Review

I came in not really knowing what to expect. Within ninety minutes I had a clearer picture of my EPF standing and my monthly outgoings than I had managed to piece together on my own in the previous two years. The summary page they gave me at the end was genuinely useful — I have looked at it several times since.

Subang Jaya · Young Family Programme

My husband and I had been meaning to look properly at our finances for a while but kept putting it off. The Young Family programme gave us a structure we would not have created for ourselves. The session on education savings was particularly useful — I had not realised how many options there were beyond just EPF and FD.

Mont Kiara · Household Orientation

The three-month engagement was thorough without feeling overwhelming. Each session built on the previous one and there was always time at the end for questions. The printed summary they produced at the close is something I refer back to whenever we are thinking about a larger financial decision. My one note would be that the closing session felt slightly rushed — though that may have been the time of day we chose.

Kuala Lumpur · First Morning Review

I went in mainly to understand my Takaful coverage and whether it was adequate for where I am in life. The facilitator took me through it in a way that was very measured — not pushing me towards any change, just helping me see what I had and what the gaps were. That is exactly what I needed.

Bangsar · Young Family Programme

The group format was something I was initially a bit hesitant about, but the group was kept small and people were thoughtful in what they shared. My wife and I found it more useful than we expected. The session on PRS contributions during the child-rearing years answered a question we had been sitting on for months.

Ampang · Household Orientation

We had come to a point where we needed to make some real decisions about property and medium-term savings, and we did not feel informed enough to make them well. The Household Orientation gave us a proper foundation. The summary document at the end was exactly the right length — short enough to return to, detailed enough to be genuinely informative.

In Depth

Three household journeys

First Morning Review · Petaling Jaya

The situation

A single professional in her early thirties who had recently changed employers and was unsure how her EPF contributions had been affected, and whether her existing insurance arrangements were still appropriate for her new salary level.

The session

A First Morning Review. The facilitator worked through her EPF statement, her current monthly position, and her existing Takaful policy in sequence. Each was mapped onto the summary page as the session progressed.

What she left with

A clear picture of her EPF standing post-transition, confirmation that her Takaful coverage remained adequate, and a short list of two questions she wanted to return to in a longer engagement at a later stage.

"I had been putting off looking at these numbers for about six months. Ninety minutes was all it took to feel oriented again."

Young Family Programme · Subang Jaya

The situation

Two households that had heard about the programme through a shared acquaintance. Both had children under five, were managing dual incomes, and had not reviewed their household financial structure since their children were born.

The programme

Both households joined a group of five and completed the full five-session programme over two months. Sessions were held on Saturday mornings at the Heritage Tower office.

Outcomes after three months

Both households had started SSPN-i accounts for their children within six weeks of the education savings session. One household restructured its monthly contributions to reflect a more appropriate insurance-to-savings balance.

"The group made the questions easier to ask. We all had children and roughly similar situations — that helped."

Household Orientation · Ampang

The situation

A couple in their early forties approaching a decision about a second property purchase. They wanted to understand their current financial position fully before committing to any additional obligations.

The engagement

A full Household Orientation over three months. The working sessions covered household cash flow, savings and investment positions, insurance adequacy at this stage of life, and a long-horizon view of EPF and retirement readiness.

What they decided

Having reviewed their position carefully, they chose to defer the property decision by twelve months and use that period to adjust their savings pattern. The summary document continues to guide their monthly review habits.

"We came in asking whether we could afford something. We left understanding our full picture — which was more useful than a yes or no."
