3. Service Description
Sumora provides structured financial education sessions for adults and households in Malaysia. Our sessions are educational in nature. They are not regulated financial advice, investment advice, or insurance advice as defined under Malaysian financial services legislation. Sumora does not hold a Capital Markets Services Licence, a Financial Adviser licence, or any other regulated financial services licence. We do not manage funds, execute transactions, or act as an intermediary for any financial product.
Sessions are available in person at our Kuala Lumpur office or via video call, as agreed with the client at the time of booking.
4. Session Booking and Confirmation
- Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of full payment or agreed deposit.
- A confirmation email will be sent to the address provided at the time of booking.
- Pre-session materials (such as a bank statement and EPF statement) are requested in advance. Failure to prepare these materials may limit the scope of the session but does not entitle the client to a refund.
5. Payment Terms
- All fees are quoted and charged in Malaysian Ringgit (RM).
- Payment is accepted via bank transfer or other methods agreed at the time of booking.
- Cancellation by client: Cancellations made more than 5 business days before the session may receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 5 business days are non-refundable, though we will endeavour to reschedule where possible.
- Cancellation by Sumora: If we cancel a session, we will offer a full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost.
- Group programme fees are non-refundable once the programme has commenced unless Sumora cancels the programme.
6. User Responsibilities
- You agree to provide accurate information when booking and completing pre-session materials.
- You agree to treat session content as educational and not as regulated financial advice.
- You agree to maintain the confidentiality of any information shared by other participants in group sessions.
- You agree not to record sessions (audio or video) without prior written consent from Sumora.
- You agree not to reproduce or distribute Sumora's session materials without written permission.
7. Intellectual Property
All session materials, printed summaries, and content produced by Sumora are the intellectual property of Sumora. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use these materials for your own household purposes only. Reproduction, distribution, or use for commercial purposes is not permitted without prior written consent.
8. Confidentiality
Sumora treats all client financial information as strictly confidential. We will not share your personal or financial information with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy or as required by law.
9. Disclaimers
- Sumora's sessions are provided for educational purposes only. Nothing communicated in a session constitutes regulated financial advice under Malaysian law.
- We do not warrant that following any framework, approach, or information discussed in a session will produce any particular financial result.
- Session content reflects general financial education principles and available Malaysian instruments at the time of delivery. It should not be relied upon as a definitive statement of current law, regulation, or product terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Malaysian law, Sumora's total liability to you in connection with any session or engagement shall not exceed the fee paid for that specific session or engagement. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from the use of our services or this website.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sumora and its facilitators from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of session materials in an unauthorised manner, or any misrepresentation you make in connection with a booking.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate an ongoing engagement by giving written notice. If Sumora terminates an engagement due to breach of these Terms by the client, fees already paid for undelivered sessions may be forfeited at Sumora's discretion. If the client terminates, standard cancellation terms apply.
13. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt resolution informally by contacting [email protected] in the first instance. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to the courts of Malaysia.
14. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with any session confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sumora regarding our services.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
